Where did it go?
It's funny I named this post "where did it go?" I am asking this very question now. I posted this with all my intended and thoughtful words on the below pictures and then all the words disappeared. Where did they go? I guess cyberspace gobbled them up and I am left with a post of pictures no words. Maybe I should just leave it like this?
Maybe not...
The light pictured below used to hang in the dining room at Twin Oaks, I believe it is the original light that hung there when Twin Oaks received electricity. It continued to hang there until the previous owner purchased the house and immediately sold it due to, what she referred to as, the ugly and scary faces on it. The only detail she could remember is that she sold it to a Victoria real estate agent and it hasn't been seen since.
I admit the light is not the prettiest or most feminine of lights but it is original and it fits with the dark wood of the trim and doors. Also sold as the family was selling the house was the dining room furniture. It too had carved faces, as seen in the picture below. Luckily I recently found out that someone in Victoria still has this furniture and is taking care of it.
Rob and I have agreed that it would be nice to return the entry hall, the living room and the dining room back to its original décor. We have so many pieces of family history we need a place to display some of the key pieces and it would be nice to have some of the original furnishings returned to the house to increase the historical feel.
If you have seen this light, please let me know. If it is being taken care of and loved, I will be happy, if it needs a new/old home we would love to have it back.
