The Heintzman

One of the most amazing things about this house is the history. Not just the age of the house but the very fact that my husbands ancestors built and lived in the house that we now reside in.

Honestly, who gets to experience this? 

After we bought the home we were informed that the family was still in possession of the piano that was originally in the home. When we were asked if we would like it, we couldn't resist. 

It is a beautiful Heintzman piano that was built in 1891. I am not sure how the family came to possess the piano but it is amazing that it is still in the families possession and now sits in my dining room.  

I love how the detail on the piano matches the detail of the home. It sounds amazing and I can't wait for the girls to take lessons. 

With the piano came a selection of piano books. Some new and some old, dating back to the 1860's.

if only I was talented enough to play the music in these books. I guess I will need to brush up on my skills and take some lessons!
